Standard # 2: Play Instruments

 Connecting Technology & Standards, (emphasis MIDI) for elementary general music.
 

1.  Piano students:  Have them orchestrate piano pieces in a looping or sequencing prgram for interesting timbres or in Band In a Box for interesting rhythmic styles.

2.  Band students:  Transpose class songs in a notation program so that band students can practice on their instruments.

3.  Play along:  Record melody and/or chord patterns into Band In a Box; slow the tempo down so students can practice by playing along.  They will be able to see the on-screen keyboard playing the melody and chord patterns.
