  Have students describe how many musical parts there are, whether the parts are balanced, if there are the expressive qualities.

WWW Links

The wealth of MIDI files and sound formats gives many opportunities to evaluate musical qualities.  Some formats are more conducive than others to expressiveness.  Does the type of sound file allow musical quality, is the composer's arrangement musical?, does the choice of instrument allow the most musical expression?
